Executive Director of Crystal Meadows Housing and Carbondale Housing Authority

This is a full time position for o self-driven individual to manage a 79 unit nonprofit Housing Authority for those 62 and older or disabled. Crystal Meadows is federally subsidized by HUD and the USDA Rural Development.

Salary range of $80k - $90k DOE, bonus potential and some benefits. Although On-site and Online training will be provided, the ideal candidate for this position would preferably have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bookkeeping skills including the ability to complete payroll

  • Computer software skills including QuickBooks, HUD and USDA Rural Development software and programs, and Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Work with various individuals and organizations that offer programs and benefits to the residents

  • Reports to the Board, prepares Board packets for and attends monthly Board meetings

  • Ultimate mediator of conflict before issues go to the Board

  • Assist and coordinate with contracted CPA for the yearly auditing process

  • Coordinate and assist HUD and the USDA Rural Development representatives for audits and site inspections.

  • Complete and submit to HUD/USDA Rural Development re-certifications for all five phases

  • Manage flow of money from USDA and HUD through various accounts

  • Sets Annual Budget

  • On call hours may be required

Assistant to Executive Director of Crystal Meadows Housing and Carbondale Housing Authority

This is a part time (25 hours/week) position for a self-driven individual who will support the Executive Director of a 79 unit nonprofit Housing Authority for those 62 and older or disabled. Pay range of $25 - $30/hour DOE with bonus potential. I Duties and skills include the following:

  • Computer software skills including Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Friendly demeanor with ability to interact daily with residents to answer questions, concerns, complaints and to solve conflicts. Answer phones and general questions from public for information, applications, etc.

  • Work with various individuals and organizations that offer programs and benefits to the residents

  • Assist and coordinate with the yearly auditing procedures under the direction of the Executive Director

  • Assist the Executive Director with the resident application process and re-certification prep

  • Oversee and assist with other projects as directed by the Executive Director

  • On call hours may be required
